OtaNix ry is teaming up with CRACI to bring you a Kubernetes x Nix workshop!

Managing Kubernetes doesn’t have to be hard: NixOS offers a unique opportunity to configure the entire computing stack with a single config.

The workshop will focus on these topics:

• Managing remote NixOS machines
• Handling secrets with Nix
• Deploying Kubernetes on NixOS via k3s
• Managing a Kubernetes cluster with Nix-powered GitOps

These aren’t tightly coupled, and the experience can be used with other stacks as well!

Hands-on participation requires a laptop with Nix and SSH. For advanced topics, you may bring a YubiKey, if you have one.

The workshop covers configuring three NixOS hosts to form a Kubernetes cluster; CRACI will provide you with NixOS hosts, but you may also use your own machine to run VMs. Configuration for NixOS will be provided, for other systems you’ll have to figure it out yourself.
